Beaches & Surfing

  There are many pristine beaches in the Mallacoota region to enjoy. Betka River beach is a safe swimming beach for the kids and grown ups.
There is good surfing at Tip Beach, Bastion Point and at the Entrance

 

Fishing

  Bream, dusky flathead, luderick, garfish, tailor and trevally are prolific in Top & Bottom Lakes fed by the Wallagaraugh & Genoa Rivers system. Whiting and mulloway are other species that are regularly caught in the Lakes.
Prawning can also be enjoyed by young and old during the summer months.

 

Cruises & Boat Hire

  Hire boat facilities, day cruises and charter boats operate year round to explore the Top & Bottom Lakes and the Wallagaraugh & Genoa Rivers system.

 

Water Activities

  The Mallacoota inlet with 320 km of shoreline comprises the Top & Bottom Lakes fed by the Wallagaraugh, Genoa & Little Rivers system. Windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing are popular activities.

 

Walks

  There is everything from short walks to extended walks throughout the Croajingolong & Coopracambra National Park and the Nadgie Nature Reserve and the Wilderness Coast. Mallacoota is renowned for its bird life  - the large number of species emphasizes the range of habitats in the parks.

 

 Sports

  Outdoor activities in Mallacoota include golf, tennis, lawn bowls, cycling, bird watching.
There are also numerous picnic and BBQ facilities around the lakes, most with jetties.

 

Worth Visiting

  Gabo Island and lighthouse.
